Luis Rubiales presents the 'IX edition of the Ramón Cobo Awards'.

Venancio López received the RFEF's gold insignia in an emotional ceremony in which the Coaches Committee also gave a special distinction to the coaches who achieved success in the 2021-2022 season.

A day of recognition for coaches during the 'IX edition of the Ramón Cobo Awards', which consists of awards that serve to recognize sporting successes linked to exemplary behavior, respect and the spirit of sportsmanship. The president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, accompanied by the president of the Coaches Committee, David Gutiérrez, presented the awards at an event that also served to give Venancio López the gold badge of the RFEF. It also served to make a special distinction to the national coaches who have achieved success during the 2021-2022 season.

"Venancio is a man who works hard, who never gives up, who helps the disadvantaged, with a record that includes four European Cups and we have decided to give him this recognition because he exemplifies the values that we want to transmit from the RFEF. He is a person we love and the one who is most requested to give talks because he is a world-class teacher", said Luis Rubiales, who invited Venancio's wife and daughter, Ana and Aitana, to experience this moving moment on stage.

For his part, the president of the Coaches Committee, David Gutiérrez, thanked President Luis Rubiales for his commitment to promoting women's football, which is reflected in the sporting successes, as well as recognizing the value of the enthusiasm that modest clubs transmit when they win the championship title, with UMA Antequera de Tete as an example last season, but above all "the values that coaches transmit with their behavior and which are an example for society".

Venancio, accompanied by his loved ones, thanked the RFEF and especially Luis Rubiales for receiving this recognition, as well as the Coaches Committee: "I am proud to receive it in a place which has always been my home. I am privileged to be able to work in this house trying to transmit the values of respect and humility, promoting teamwork and helping anyone who needs it at any time, which is inherent to this award".
