Luis Rubiales: "You are going to be the leaders of the future"
The President of the RFEF inaugurates the 'II International Futsal Coaches Congress' with a line-up of speakers at world-class level
Nearly 200 coaches attended the 'II International Futsal Coaches Congress' organized by the Spanish Football Federation's Coaches Committee. The event was inaugurated by Luis Rubiales, president of the RFEF, who enjoys and supports futsal, as it is reflected day to day. Promoting training to identify excellence is one of the objectives of events like the one celebrated in Granada, where well-known coaches participated as speakers. They included Fede Vidal, Jorge Braz, Marquinhos Xavier, Matías Lucuix, Josan González, Bruno García and Diego Ríos, as well as Xesco Espar, a specialist in High Personal Performance and Leadership.
"A coach is an athlete, a teacher and a leader, above all. It is not easy to combine these characteristics, you have to know how to moderate and take care with affection, with firmness, at any time for quick decisions, so a define character is needed, and you need to recognise when you are wrong and keep moving forward. You are going to be the leaders of the future, trainers and teachers, without a doubt, it is a tremendous source of pride to want to renew your training in order to continue being the best coaches and the most valued worldwide both in Spain and abroad. The RFEF is the driving force in training, we are doing a magnificent job, and we will continue to make progress, together with other federations, such as the Portuguese federation", said the president.
Luis Rubiales also outlined the firm commitment to promoting women's futsal: "We have the best coaches in the world, such as Claudia Pons, who was the first female national coach to become European champion. We are working so that they have a permanent technical staff like the men's national team. She has achieved the greatest success in record time and I am convinced that you will be a world champion".
David Gutiérrez, president of the RFEF Coaches Committee, said: "The line-up of speakers at the congress is hard to top. There is a representation of the best coaches in the world to help you in your training. They are the elite but, whether winning or losing, we are all successful coaches because we are part of the children's training process. Sometimes we don't score more goals than our opponents, but we are already winning by training the boys and girls. We are going to continue working to bring futsal coaches up to the level they deserve".
For his part, Pablo Lozano, vice-president of the RFEF and president of the Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), acknowledged, "it is impossible to bring a better line-up of speakers together". "You make our coaches the greatest, you make us better. There is no person who supports and cares more about futsal than Luis Rubiales, he will be recognised in time as the best futsal manager in history". José Manuel Molina Maza and María Martos, among others, also attended the event on behalf of the RFAF.
