Manuel Pellegrini: "The Supercopa is a special trophy"

The Real Betis coach and Luiz Felipe are motivated and excited about the tournament that kicks off this Wednesday. The club is aiming at win it for the first time in its history: "I hope I can win a Supercopa with Betis club"

The current Copa del Rey champions have had their last training session at Al-Hilal club's sports facilities ahead of Thursday's semi-final against FC Barcelona. At the pre-match press conference Manuel Pellegrini stated that "the motivation is to see the Betis fans enjoy watching a team that can be competitive in both Copa del Rey and Supercopa", which is a trophy that "allows you to win a title against teams as big as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona or Valencia CF", he said.

Luiz Felipe attended the press conference with the coach. The green and white defender is aware of the difficulty of the match but he is confident in his team's chances: "We are ready to fight for the match from the first minute. Hopefully, I can win the Supercopa with Betis".

Before the training session, Real Betis players received a very special visit from Héctor Bellerín. The FC Barcelona player will play against them on Thursday's semi-final after winning the Copa del Rey with Real Betis last season.

It will be the first time Real Betis participates in this competition since it changed to the current format, a "final four" in a spectacular venue. The second finalist of the Supercopa de España will come out of their match against FC Barcelona.
