Marc Casadó, first away debutant of the year

So far in 2024, the Spanish national team have had many positive moments, including the European Championships victory, but until this Friday no player had made his Spain debut in a competitive away match.

In the final away game of the year, Catalan Marc Casadó did just that, coming on in the final quarter of the game to help Spain beat Denmark and secure top spot in the UEFA Nations League group stage.

Dani Vivian, Álex Remiro and Pau Cubarsí also made their debuts away from home in 2024, but in a friendly against Colombia in London.

Marc Casadó, born 21 years ago in the Valladolid town of San Pedro de Villamayor, has been capped at three age levels of the Spanish national team system and made his debut for Luis de la Fuente on Friday, becoming the 19th player to make his debut for the Riojan coach since his appointment.
