Mariona: "I hope to see you in Paris"

The Spanish National Team put in an unforgettable performance against Sweden, coming from behind against one of the strongest teams in the world. With a united team spirit and a great finishing in front of goal, Spain turned around a match that had at one point been looking beyond them. Mariona Caldentey was one of those responsible for this epic night of excitement. 

"When we play well I enjoy it and I'm very happy to have scored". She scored twice in a match in which the attendance record was broken: "It's a luxury to play at home. I hope that next time we break a record again and that the number of fans keeps going up". Mariona brought the 15,896 people at La Rosaleda to their feet in celebration. 

Finally, and after finishing off a fantastic year, the player confessed her hopes for 2024: "I hope we manage to qualify for the Olympic Games and that we can all see each other in Paris. It would be something historic and something we're all excited about".
