MATCH REPORT | Equality the winner between champions (3-3)

Spain and Brazil put on a show in both social and sporting terms.

The one skin campaign and a host of moments of the highest quality of football was the result of a spectacular match between two teams with half a dozen World Cups to their name between them.

The imposing recently refurbished Santiago Bernabéu, with passionate support for the Spanish national team, provided the perfect setting for a fascinating dual.

From the start, Luis de la Fuente revamped almost the starting 11 from the one that played four days ago against Colombia in London and, with the changes, he managed to ensure that each and every one of the 26 players called up to the squad got minutes at some point over the two matches.

The team's strong connection and link up play was evident from the opening whistle, with a Spain side that was remarkably intense with their high press in their opponents' half and determined to go for the jugular.

Ten minutes into the game, the impressive trickery of an outstanding Lamine Yamal led to the first penalty of the night when Joao Gomes brought down the flying Barcelona winger after he had danced down the Brazilian left hand side.

Rodrigo Hernández slotted the ball down the middle and raised his arms to the Madrid sky to dedicate the goals to his recently deceased grandfather.

Rodrigo Hernández, who wore the captain's armband on the night, converted the penalty and dedicated the goal to his recently deceased grandfather, stretching his arms to the Madrid sky in an act of courage and humanity

Spain were having success down both flanks against a Brazil side struggling to string together passing combinations. Then Spain dealt the visitors their second blow of the night in the form of an individual effort from Dani Olmo, whose left-footed shot from inside the visitors' box found the back of the net.

Two goals down, Dorival Junior reacted after the break and his triple substitution changed the game.

First Rodrygo, after intercepting a pass from Unai Simón, managed to pull one back for Brazil. Then, the young Endrick scored again with a well taken volley from a corner to level the match.

The Spaniards and Brazilians entered the final period throwing caution to the wind and although it would be a stalemate, there was still time for both teams to grab another goal each. Firstly, Rodri scored again from the spot after Carvajal was fouled latching onto a dangerous Lamal pass into the box. Then, as the game was just about to finish, the Leganes player Carvajal was in the action again, committing another penalty with only seconds to go, allowing Paquetá to make it 3-3.

All in all, it was a great game of football with which Spain concluded this first training camp of what is promising to be a momentous year with the European Championships just around the corner.
