Montse Tomé: "One of our goals is to be at the Olympic Games"

The Spain coach shared her thoughts on the clash against the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-finals.

The Netherlands will be Spain's UEFA Women's Nations League semi-final opponents, as decided by today’s midday draw held in Nyon, Switzerland. Montse Tomé commented on the clash after the event: "We already have our opponents and we're looking forward to the game with great enthusiasm. We have two months ahead of us to work well and from now on we will begin to study the Netherlands’ game".

The national team will play both the semi-final and either the final or the third place playoff at home thanks to the format of the draw, something that the coach wanted to highlight: "Playing at home is important. Right now we're getting a lot of support, in the Sweden match in Malaga we broke our attendance record. To be able to enjoy a tournament like this at home, at the highest level, is very positive".

On the possibility of being at the Olympic Games, Tomé shared her excitement: "The Nations League is a competition that we focused on from the beginning, hopefully we can get to the final. That would mean being an Olympian next summer, as two European teams will join France in the event: "One of our objectives is to be in Paris, the Spanish national team has never been to the Olympics and it would be nice for all of us".
