“I felt absolute joy as it was a real tussle of a match,” explained the head coach regarding her feelings after the semi-final. “We knew we had to have the right mentality to withstand Germany, who are a very physical team, and the team kept pushing for the goal right until the very end,” she stated.

“We’ve managed to beat them for the first time, and it gives us infinite joy,” she stressed, referring to the historic first victory over Germany. “I feel fulfilled, happy, and that our hard work has paid off,” added the national coach.

Regarding the possibility of penalties, she explained that they had practised them, but that she always trusted in her team. “They were the protagonists of the game, and they knew how to play it,” she added, giving credit to the players' efforts.

She paid a special mention to the “tremendous job done by both full-backs. We knew both would be crucial. I think they did a spectacular job,” she highlighted when speaking about Olga and Ona Batlle. She also spoke about the goalscorer, Aitana Bonmatí. “She’s a player with a very special desire to compete at the highest level. She helps the team a lot, like all the players, and I think she played a very important role, just like the rest of the team,” she noted.
