The night in Tbilisi was, in sporting terms, a perfect night, turning a potentially tricky visit to Georgia into a resounding victory for Spain (1-7). One that strengthens Luis de la Fuente and his coaching staff´s belief in their ideas. They played very good football overall, with some standout sensational moments, and everything was much more comfortable after the first goal, with my freedom to find space, as is always the case in such demanding games.

"Scoring a hat-trick for the Spanish national team is always very special".

The deadlock was broken after 22 minutes through Álvaro Morata, the star of the match and the player who ended up taking home a signed match ball following his first hat-trick for the national team La Roja. The Madrid striker has now scored 33 goals in 65 games for Spain, a figure that speaks volumes about the striker’s goal scoring prowess for the national team.

"I'm especially pleased to have been able to help the team in a game like this, which is so important for the qualification".

After winning the UEFA Nations League in June, Spain resumed their EURO 2024 qualifying campaign with this important victory in Tbilisi, which will give them great confidence ahead of Tuesday's game at Los Cármenes against bottom of the group Cyprus.

"I'll put the ball in a display case in the children's room, they always ask me for these things".

Morata is currently the fifth highest scorer for the Spanish national team, behind only David Villa (59), Raúl González (44), Fernando Torres (38) and David Silva (35).
