Morata: “I’m happy and feeling very strong”
Álvaro Morata began the press conference with a fact: “8 out of 10 young people suffer with their mental health and many don’t dare to speak up. I accept all types of criticism. Many people can relate to this, and my only aim is to help those going through the same thing. I’m fine and I’ve recovered.”
Regarding the visit of Carvajal, Rodri, and Le Normand, the captain was clear: “It shows why we became European champions this summer. The hardest thing to do is to build a team, let alone one like this. Any injury hurts us deeply. Hopefully, they recover as soon as possible because we love them and we need them.”
“Luis de la Fuente has made history, he’s written a very important chapter in Spanish football history, only with time will we realise what he’s achieved,” Morata said about the national coach.
“Every time we look at our shirts, they don’t just have one badge, but two: the Nations League and the Euros. In my head, this was my last tournament with the national team, but after talking to my teammates and the coach, they asked me to stay, and here I am. When you feel important, you’re happy. I don’t know when my last game will be, but I’m happy and feeling very strong,” said the Spain captain.

The national team forward stated, “There are incredible teams all over the world, but our greatest achievement isn’t the Euros. Any new player who comes in and feels like they’ve been part of the team for three or four years, and that’s the most difficult thing we’ve achieved. We have a great atmosphere, one which I’ve rarely seen in the world of football.”
“We believe in ourselves. The coach reminds us before every training session that we’re the best, although he also keeps us in check. We needed to win a title like the Euros to keep dreaming of more,” Morata revealed.
“Tomorrow’s match is really important. We have the chance to make it a celebration, and we’re going to fight for that,” the national team striker concluded.
