Nico Williams and the joy of football

With a joy that defines both his personality and his playing style, Nico, just 22 years old, is heading into his second final with the national team, this time in Munich. He helped Spain win the 2024 Euros with a starring role and two goals in the tournament, one of them the first on the path to victory in the decisive match against England.

He has 24 international caps and six goals.

Since making his debut for Spain two years ago, the skilful Athletic Club winger has dazzled the world with his confidence and incredible dribbling ability; because, as he himself says: “A footballer has to enjoy himself on the pitch for things to go well.”

His potential is astonishing. So is his self-belief. The younger of the Williams brothers is ready to face Portugal in the Nations League final, a tournament in which he’s hoping to win after missing the 2023 edition due to injury.
