Official pre-match event for Spain vs Canada in Almendralejo
The Spanish Women’s National Team is set to visit Extremadura for the fourth time, following matches against Portugal (2015), Brazil (2019), and Morocco (2021). On this occasion, however, it will be the first time they play there as World Champions. Their opponent in this friendly match is Canada, a strong team that ranks among the top places in the FIFA rankings.
The match, which will take place on 25th October at 22:00 at the Estadio Francisco de la Hera in Almendralejo, has been presented under the slogan “Passion for sport. Commitment to equality” at the Extremadura Government headquarters in an event attended by the Secretary of Equality and Reconciliation, Ara Sánchez, the representative of the RFEF Women’s Football Department, Ana Álvarez, the Vice President of the Extremadura Football Federation, Ángeles Aguilera, and the Almendralejo City Council Sports Councillor, Raquel del Puerto.
In order to commemorate the centenary year of the Extremadura Football Federation, the match will be a festive event that will include a Fan Zone in the Plaza de Extremadura in Almendralejo on the 19th and 20th of October.
