Olympic gathering at the Ciudad del Fútbol
The upcoming Olympic Games in Paris will go down in the history of Spanish sport as being the first time that our country will be represented in the football tournament in both male and female categories. Before starting the Olympic adventure, the teams had a meeting at the Ciudad del Fútbol. The players enjoyed a pleasant dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.
The team coached by Montse Tomé began its preparation last June 30 in Los Ángeles de San Rafael (Segovia). The Spanish Women's National Team will play their final two matches against the Czech Republic and Belgium as part of qualifying for the 2025 European Championships in Switzerland, for which they have already secured their place. Afterwards, on Wednesday, July 17, thefinal training camp for the Olympic Games in Paris will begin.
Meanwhile, Santi Denia and his team have been preparing for the Olympic Games since July 1 at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. They will continue there until Wednesday, July 17, when they will travel to Bordeaux (France) to play on July 18 against the United States in their only preparation match before the start of the group stage of the Olympic tournament.
In the men's competition, Spain has won three medals (one gold and three silver), while in the women's competition, the reigning world and Nations League champions will be looking to make history by winning a medal in their first participation.
