Osasuna: a long road to celebrate their second Final

The Navarrese team has had to overcome six rounds to qualify after a magical night at San Mamés.

Osasuna will play in their second Copa del Rey final, a huge recognition for an extraordinary season. The Navarrese have had a long journey to reach La Cartuja, present in the first round, which was decided with a decisive victory over CD Fuentes (1-4). In the second round, they eliminated CD Arnedo (1-3) and in the round of 32 they defeated Nàstic in Tarragona (1-2).

They knocked out Real Betis, reigning champions, on penalties in the round of 16 (2-2 after extra time), outplayed Sevilla in the quarterfinals (2-1) and pulled off an epic performance in the semifinals against Athletic, impossible not to remember that great goal by Pablo Ibáñez in San Mamés. The only time Osasuna was in a final was in 2005, being defeated by Betis in extra time.

It has been a beautiful journey for the "rojillo" team, with a dedicated fan base and with their hopes sky high. They have been a very competitive team for a long time and a good example of this is the Copa del Rey they have played this season, the best showcase for a squad in which they all add up.

Kike García, with five goals, has been one of the great protagonists of the current edition of this tournament, scoring all his goals in the first three rounds and still being the top scorer. The rest of the goals have been scored by Ruben García (2) Darko Brasanac, Nacho Vidal, Èric Montes, David García, Abde and the aforementioned Pablo Ibáñez.
