Oyarzabal: "Our idea is to compete, regardless of who we´re up against".

The Real Sociedad player and Spain international praised manager Luis de la Fuente and said that "everyone here" wants to repay his trust in them.

Mikel Oyarzabal began the press conference prior to the Cyprus-Spain game by commenting on how he is feeling after his injury, "I think that every process takes time, it was hard for me but I kept working when things didn't go as I expected, I felt the confidence of everyone around me to keep working. Today, I am here and that means that things are going well for me". He smiled as he commented that the only good thing about the injury was being able to spend time with his family and friends.

On advice to footballers who are in contention for selection for both the Olympic Games and the European Championship next year, he said that "I would tell them that if they get the chance, to go to both, which would be a normal feeling as the Games are once in a lifetime. We are talking about top level events".

Oyarzabal was full of praise for Luis de la Fuente, "I have always said it and I will continue to say it, I am very grateful for the trust he has always given me. We've worked together for many years and we have a great relationship. All of us here want to repay his trust in us".

Finally, regarding the upcoming continental competition, he commented that "we hold out great hopes for the European Championships and our intention is to compete against anyone we come up against".
