More than fifteen months after his last call-up, the player from Madrid has returned to the national team setup for a vitally important international window, as it is the first of the year and incredibly close to the upcoming European Championships.

This recall marks the end of a tricky time for the player who has described this previous time as "a long period during which there have been very significant changes in my life. I have felt the support of the people at the RFEF. We have experienced a lot of things together and that makes a difference".

His renewed confidence has now been rewarded with another call-up to the senior squad and comes as the result of some very specific new habits: "I work to improve every day and it's been great to be able to come back. It's always a joy and a reward to be here. I've had to adapt my diet and my recovery. I'm enjoying a great season and I'm proud of it".

A starter at English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sarabia has stood out for his outstanding play and commitment in four major European leagues. A career path he believes in, explaining "on a personal level it is very enriching to know how to adapt to each country and each city. That is something that is transferred to the pitch too, to be aware of one's strengths and weaknesses".

His experience is something he wants to transmit in the dressing room to the rising stars of the national team, because "the fact that there are players who stand out so young is a good sign because it means that the youth system in Spanish football is working very well. I'm in the best form of my career, I don't think I'm too old, although there is an age difference with some of the players and that's why I think I can contribute with my experience".

With this mindset, he goes into these two massive matches: first against Colombia in London and will then take part in the match against racism against Brazil at the Santiago Bernabéu, something that particularly moves him, because "racism has no place in football or in life", he concluded emphatically.
