Patri Guijarro began the press conference by looking back on the match against Italy. "It was really tough for us. We knew Italy would come out playing a very intense and strong game. We tried to press them so they couldn’t play out quickly and forced them to go down the wings," she explained, noting that Spain were more successful in the second half.

"We're a team and we won the match because each of us played a crucial role," she emphasised, while stressing that it's an "individual award in a team sport". Additionally, Patri wanted to dedicate the award to the entire team and said that on many occasions, several players are worthy of winning the POTM award.

The midfielder was the scorer of the second goal, which she described in the press conference: "I felt the pressure coming straight away and told myself, ‘just try to get your shot off however you can’." "The least clear chance I had ended up going in, and I’m happy to help the team," she added.

"I'm happy to be involved a lot in the game. It's necessary for midfielders to get involved because it gives the team fluidity," the Spain star stated.

"I wish we had done everything perfectly, but it's impossible," said Patri Guijarro. Still, despite her high standards, she added that it was important to "put things into perspective" and that she was pleased with the three victories.

"I'm very flattered that the coach speaks highly of me and also very happy with the trust she shows in me," she said in response to Montse Tomé’s comments highlighting her as one of the best players.
