Pedri: ‘Having a title at stake against Real Madrid is another motivation’.
The Fútbol Club Barcelona player spoke to the media the afternoon before the clasico of the Spanish Super Cup final.
At 19:00 (Saudi local time), Pedri González faced the press at the King Abdullah Sports City to answer questions from the media ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final.
‘I see the dressing room motivated, eager to play in a final. Having a title at stake and against Madrid I think it's something that motivates every footballer since they were little, ' explained the Canary Islander about Sunday's clash.
‘On the pitch I try to give my best, we have to focus on what we do on the pitch and not on our opponents. The other day we received good support in the stadium, I hope that we do tomorrow as well’.
Regarding his form: ‘It's true that I haven't had this consistency of fitness for a long time, every time I go out in a press conference I'm always asked about my injuries. I've worked hard to get here as fit as possible and now I'm very happy to have regular minutes and enjoy my football’. He added: ‘In addition to the continuity, I'm feeling comfortable. We play a style of football which I enjoy, with a high press.
‘To repeat a performance like the one at the Bernabeu is going to be complicated, they're going to want revenge. I think we have to be strong on the ball and control the game. They are very quick and can hurt us on the counter’, assessed Pedri when asked about the keys to the match.
