Pedro Rocha heads up the Spanish delegation at the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok.
The president of the RFEF has met with different international authorities in the Thai capital this Wednesday.
The presentation of FIFA's annual progress report, various votes to update world football’s governing body’s statutes and the the selection of the venue for the 2027 Women's World Cup finals are just some of the points that the 74th FIFA Congress will address this Friday, May 17 in Bangkok.
The Spanish delegation for this important meeting is already in the Thai capital with the president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha, heading up the working team that will hold several meetings with the leading authorities of world football over the coming days.
“It is a great opportunity to meet with representatives of other federations that, in December, will vote on the host nation of the 2030 World Cup,” said the president of the RFEF upon his arrival in Thailand.
Rocha had a first meeting with his Portuguese counterpart, Fernando Soares Gomes da Silva. He also had a brief meeting with the president of the Oceania Football Confederation, Lambert Maltock. These meetings will be followed by various further bilateral meetings prior to the holding of the congress.
Prior to the celebration of the congress, the FIFA council in Bangkok has, this Wednesday, established a working group to study possible changes to regulations and has also approved the women's international calendar for the period 2026-2029, which proposes the creation of a new club World Cup for the winter of 2026, as well as the celebration of the first Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines next year .
