Penultimate session at Las Rozas
The national team trained for nearly two hours on a cloudy morning at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas today. The coach was able to work with a full compliment of players in the squad for this second last session before they head to Almendralejo.
It was a special day for three Under-23 players who followed Montse Tomé and her coaching staff’s instructions this morning with the senior team. Lucía Corrales (Sevilla) and Maite Zubieta (Athletic Club de Bilbao), who also trained with the team yesterday, were joined today by Érika González (Levante UD). The three players, who recently played in the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, are currently training with the squad led by Sonia Bermúdez and will play a match against Italy tomorrow in Las Rozas (free entry until full capacity is reached).
There are only two days left until the match against Canada, and the national team is putting the finishing touches on their preparations for the international friendly, which will take place on Friday at 22:00 at the Francisco de la Hera in Almendralejo (La 1, TVE).
Tomorrow, Thursday, after the morning training session, the team will travel to the town of Almendralejo in Badajoz, where they will hold the official pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Canada. With qualification for Euro 2025 already secured, Montse Tomé’s team can use these international windows to take on high-level opponents in friendly matches, such as the one they will play next Tuesday against Italy in Vicenza, or against France on 3rd December in Nice.
