Portugal up next for Spain in the Nations League final
Just over two years have passed since Spain and Portugal last faced each other. It was in September 2022 at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon and, although a group stage match, also in the UEFA Nations League.
Now, after eliminating France and Germany in two thrilling semi-finals, both teams are set to meet again, although this time with the continental title at stake.
The Portuguese sealed their qualification after coming from behind against ‘Die Mannschaft’ with goals from Conceição and Cristiano Ronaldo (1-2).
Spain’s case, the tournament’s reigning champions, are in their third consecutive final; Portugal, for their part, will be playing for the trophy for the second time after contesting, and winning, the first edition against the Netherlands.
The venue for this all Iberian clash, the 41st in history, is the Allianz Arena, the home of Bayern Munich with a capacity of 75,000 spectators; and the date and time set for the match is Sunday 8 June at 21:00 hours.
The head-to-head record stands as follows: 18 Spanish wins, 6 for Portugal, and 16 draws.
