QUALIFYING | Croatia, Italy or Netherlands possible opponents in Friday's draw
A hard-fought victory over Switzerland in Tenerife on Monday marked Spain's 14th win of a memorable year that has yet to end on a sporting note, with the national team set for two important upcoming draws.
The first is this Friday, when Luis de la Fuente's side will find out who they will face in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League in March 2025.
Croatia, Italy and the Netherlands could all be possible opponents, with Spain playing the second leg at home, as could Portugal, France and Germany, who will join Denmark in the battle for a place in the last four in June.
The draw for the European qualifying competition for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico will be held on 13 December.
