The Spanish National Football Team has qualified for the semi-finals of the inaugural UEFA Women's Nations League, having done so by dominating their group and Montse Tomé's players have made it through ahead of schedule. With next Tuesday's match against Sweden still to be played, the national team have already mathematically guaranteed finishing top of the group, ahead of Sweden, Italy and Switzerland

The draw for the semi-finals of the championships, as well as the promotion and relegation play-offs, takes place on Monday 11 December at 13:00. These play-offs will be single-legged, with the team whose ball is drawn first being the home team. The semi-finals are scheduled for 23 February, with the final scheduled for the 28th of the same month. The finalists will earn a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, although should the hosts, France, reach that stage, the third-placed team will claim the remaining place.

Just minutes before the match in Pontevedra, Switzerland had beaten Sweden at home, meaning that no team in the group could take top spot away from Spain, thus certifying qualification before even playing tonight's match.
