Rafael Louzán brings together national football stakeholders to create synergy among all regions of Spanish football
- The president meets with regional technical, general secretaries and regional level football leaders in working meetings
- The objective, to generate meeting spaces and improve “coordination and alliance between the federations,” in Louzán’s words
The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, has brought different Spanish regional football groups together through meetings between professionals who, with different responsibilities in the regional federations at autonomous levels, work for the improvement of this sport. These are working sessions aimed at promoting alliances and coordination and will be held prior to the meeting of presidents that will take place in Barcelona, where the 125th anniversary of the Catalan Football Federation is to be celebrated.
As such, an initial meeting has taken place with the territorial staff , professionals from the Royal Spanish Football Federation, who carry out constant coordination between the Federation itself and the various territorial federations.
The aim was to involve them in the management structure being promoted by the RFEF, taking into account their role in relieving the intense workload carried out by the general secretaries of these regional federations. Among the issues put on the table was the Spanish Federation’s initiative to establish a categorisation of all the stadiums in Spain. In addition, there was discussion about the inspection of pitches with a view to the potential participation of clubs in the Copa del Rey and about news regarding data updating periods and player registrations.
Regarding the meeting with the general secretaries, held in Barcelona, the objective was to convey the different lines of work the RFEF is undertaking to improve competitions, raising awareness of the changes being outlined, with the participation of all involved. Various conclusions were shared and the fundamental work of these professionals in the regional federations was highlighted.
These working sessions are part of the new phase initiated on 16 December, in which the RFEF is aiming to prioritise dialogue, consensus and collaboration as a way to achieve the best progress for Spanish football.
Present at these meetings were the vice-president of the RFEF, Sergio Merchán; the general secretary of the RFEF, Álvaro de Miguel; along with the director general, deputy secretary and various heads of areas of the Federation.
