The Ciudad del Fútbol hosted the presentation of the ‘First International Congress of Football Coaches RFEF' which will be held by the RFEF Coaches Committee and will be a milestone in the training of “Marca España” (Brand Spain) coaches. The presentation was attended by the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, who made a mention “to all the coaches who are working in different countries and whose training in Spain has given them an opportunity. The RFEF wants to be open and ensure that all coaches in Spain have the same opportunities, regardless of where they were trained. We are working with training schools in Spain to coordinate and move forwards together. On the other hand, I want to thank Vicente del Bosque for being with us. This is your home, and it always will be your home. You are a person who transmits warmth wherever you go. I thank you for being among us.”

President Louzán also had words for the national team coaches present at the launch: “Thanks also to Luis de la Fuente, who has taken us to the final of the UEFA Nations League. To reach a final you have to do extraordinary work. Congratulations on what we have achieved. We should be proud of the work of the Spanish national football team. The same goes for coach Montse Tomé, whom we hope will be the leader of the future European champions. I also want to send a message to all the coaches in this country. We must encourage more women to join the coaching profession.”

Finally, the president of the RFEF recalled “the enormous work of the entire coaching team of this house. Behind this congress, there is enormous work that is not seen. This is the first congress of its kind we are holding in Spain and it will be a global benchmark.”

Among the authorities present at the launch of the First International Congress of Football Coaches were the president of the Royal Madrid Football Federation and head of training at the RFEF, Paco Díez; the president of the Coaches Committee, Iván Cancela; the director of the Coaching School, David Gutiérrez; as well as the national coaches Luis de la Fuente and Montse Tomé, in addition to coach Vicente del Bosque.

During the event, there was a special mention for Del Bosque, who received the tribute and the gold badge of the RFEF Coaches Committee. The coach who turned Spain into world champion emphasised “the importance of training coaches, which has been one of the fundamental factors in the progression of Spanish football. This, years ago, was unthinkable. Now, foreign clubs come looking for our coaches. Let’s hope this path continues to bear fruit with simplicity and humility. When people speak of me, I, in turn, remember Luis Aragonés, I believe it is only right to remember him.”
