Rafael Louzán visits Valencia with one goal in mind: ‘For football to provide answers to the people who have suffered the consequences of the floods‘.
The president of the RFEF has shared his conviction that the Region will host the 2030 World Cup.
The president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, visited the Valencian Community on Wednesday, following an invitation from the Valencian Directorate General for Sport, to gain first-hand insight into the progress of the reconstruction work on the football facilities damaged by the storms and subsequent floods in October 2024. The RFEF was joined by the president of the FFCV, Salvador Gomar, as well as the professional clubs Villarreal CF, Valencia CF and Levante UD, in addition to LaLiga, the Valencia Provincial Council and Valencia City Council. In addition, representatives of the city councils of the different affected municipalities and the Consejo Superior de Deportes.
President Louzán discovered with his own eyes the situation at football grounds such as the one in the town of Paiporta, which is also federally owned, and visited the building works at the Nou Mestalla stadium in Valencia.
Louzán thanked the Valencian authorities for their invitation and announced his intention to undertake specific actions as soon as possible. ‘At the RFEF we launched the great Spain brand that is the Spanish national team, both men's and women's, which will be in Valencia in March. I hope that, as soon as possible, we can get down to work. People should know that they can count on our commitment and solidarity’.
In relation to Valencia's application to join the 2030 World Cup host cities, the RFEF president was clear: ‘I believe that this community cannot be left out of the World Cup and we are going to work towards bringing it to fruitio’.
