“There is only one protagonist, my colleague Pablo—a person whom I have had the opportunity to meet thanks to football, a tireless worker with a vocation for service, and someone with whom I have shared so much.” These were the words of Rafael Louzán during the inauguration of the new president of the Galician Football Federation, Pablo Prieto, who succeeds him as the head of Galician football following the appointment of the new president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation in December 2024.

Louzán, who was recognised for his ten years as president of the RFGF, wished to highlight the team that had accompanied him from 2014 to 2024 and which will continue working to usher in “a new era: Pablo has many virtues, among them knowing what is best and seeing excellence. That is why he wants the most professional people by his side and has chosen to work for continuity in this Federation with his entire board of directors,” stated the president of the RFEF.

Alongside representatives of football from all corners of Galicia, as well as numerous political and social figures from the region, the Council’s Regional Minister for the Presidency, Justice, and Sports, Diego Calvo, was also present, in addition to the new presidents of both the RFGF and the RFEF. Everyone gathered for a commemorative photograph alongside Galician national team shirts.
