RECORD | Spain become the first in history to win four European Championships

Spain have won their fourth trophy after a 12-year wait for success

Goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal in the second half of the final at Berlin's Olympic Stadium turned Spain into the first team in history to win four European Championships.

Until now, the national team shared with Germany the privilege of having three trophies, two of them won by the Germans during the era of East and West Germany and one more after reunification.

This Sunday, Spain broke the deadlock, leaving the continental tournament's honours table as follows:
