A vibrant start of the Spanish Supercopa with a great game between the team in white and a brave Valencia CF

For the first time in history, a semifinal of the Spanish Supercopa has been decided in a penalty shootout, and it has done so in a prodigious opening match.

Real Madrid and Valencia put on a superb show on the pitch at King Fahd in which the team in white took control during the first half, taking advantage of  opportunities under Rodrygo, Valverde and Vinicius

In the end, it would be the captain Karim Benzema who put Ancelotti's men ahead, taking advantage of a penalty for Cömert knocking himself down in the Che area.

The outstanding performances of the goalkeepers have led the tie to the luck of the eleven meters, where the current champion prevailed

Going through the changing rooms would radically change the tie from the first moments of the restart, the scene of a measured cross from Toni Lato from the right side that Samuel Lino took advantage of to restore the tables.

From that moment on, the alternatives in the game followed one another against two very inspired goalkeepers such as the Georgian, Mamardashvili with an advantageous one-on-one against Vinicius in the closing stages. Similarly the Belgian Thibaut Courtois, who was voted man of the match, and whose intervention against Fran Pérez in the second part of extra time would take the match to penalties.

Madrid's success from eleven meters has decided the semifinal from the side of the current champion, who will be able to defend his title this Sunday against the winner of the match between Real Betis and FC Barcelona.
