The Royal Spanish Football Federation and Liga F are launching a joint awareness-raising message aimed at promoting global respect for referees with the involvement of all levels of football.

The message "Respect the referee, Respect football" will be present in the eight matches over matchday 20 of the F League to be played over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of March and all clubs are invited to join in by standing for a photo with the refereeing team before the start of each match.

The objective is to raise awareness across all level of football of the importance for the sport of respecting the refereeing team so that participation in football promotes sportsmanship, respect and fair play. Professional football must set the best possible example for the lower categories and prevent a climate of tension that favours no one.
