RFEF goods for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, through Mensajeros de la Paz

Warm clothes are being sent to both countries, which are some of the 135 boxes of sports equipment that the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, handed over to Padre Angel, founder of the NGO, last Monday.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has sent warm clothes for the victims of the earthquake that resulted in the death of thousands of people and emergency situations in Turkey and also in Syria, through Mensajeros de la Paz.

These warm clothes are part of the material that Luis Rubiales, president of the RFEF, donated to the organisation last Monday. The donation consisted of 135 boxes of discontinued clothing from the national team and the federation, as well as a variety of sports equipment. Given the situation caused by the strong earthquake, warm clothing (anoraks, thermals, tracksuits, etc.) will be sent directly to Turkey and Syria, in an attempt to offer help to the ones who are suffering the consequences of this catastrophe.

Padre Ángel and Sergio Mella, president and vice-president of the organisation, and representatives of Mensajeros de la Paz, are guarding the shipment.

The RFEF's donation was an initiative of social responsibility in accordance with the commitment of this institution in this area. It aimed to collaborate with Mensajeros de la Paz in those projects they develop both in our country and abroad, which focus on vulnerable people. However, the earthquake that occurred on Monday has changed the plans of the organization regarding the material received, so now it will be used for emergency aid in a catastrophic situation such as the one in Turkey and Syria.
