- The draft Regulations have been sent to the bodies that make up the General Assembly, which sets out everything related to the election process for the selection of the governing bodies for the 2024-2028 Olympic cycle.
- The RFEF asks the CSD to bring forward the stipulated deadlines in order to conclude the process before the European Championships.
- The proposed electoral calendar establishes 26 April for the election of the Assembly and 24 May for the election of the president and the Delegate Committee.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has today sent the proposed Electoral Regulations that will govern the next electoral process to the bodies that make up its General Assembly.
These Regulations are an adaptation of Order EFD/42/2024, of 25 January, which regulates the electoral processes in Spanish sports federations.
This procedure marks the beginning of the election process for the RFEF governing bodies for the 2024-2028 Olympic cycle.
The text of the proposed Electoral Regulations, in addition to being sent to the those who make up the General Assembly, is also made public through the official website RFEF.es.
From now on, the assembly members can present their objections to the text, within ten calendar days, which must then be approved by the RFEF's Delegate Commission. From this body will come the document that will then be sent to the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), so that it can be approved by its Executive Committee.
Likewise, the Federation has asked the CSD to bring forward the deadlines for the approval of the Regulations by its Board of Directors. As such, according to the current regulation, the submission to the CSD must be done electronically, at least one month before the date scheduled for the start of the electoral process, a period that may be reduced, subject to a report from the CAS.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation has requested to bring forward this deadline from 1 month to 15 days, taking into account that the objective is to have concluded the electoral process before the European Championships, with the aim of initiating a period of stability for the next 4 years for the institution that directs football in Spain before this major event.
The proposed electoral calendar that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has drawn up establishes 15 March as the starting date for the process, 26 April as the date for the election of the members of the Assembly and 24 May as the date for the election of the RFEF president and the Delegate Commission.
