San Mamés roars in celebration at reaching Copa final

The stands of La Catedral, with a record number of spectators packed inside, passionately celebrated Athletic Club's passage to the final to be held on 6 April at La Cartuja in Seville.

San Mamés experienced another night to remember in which there was once again a perfect synergy between players and fans, where the lions did not stop roaring until the final whistle. 52,061 spectators, the highest figure in the history of an Athletic Club match at La Catedral, pushed their team on from the moment they arrived at the stadium until they had secured a brilliant victory that takes them to another Copa del Rey final.

The Williams brothers led the lions and spurred on the fans who enjoyed themselves as never before, and will dream, as always, of winning a title that has eluded them for the last forty years.

With the final whistle came the joy, the connection between the fans and the team that makes them capable of achieving anything in a very special competition for Athletic Club. It was time to celebrate qualification for the final on 6 April in La Cartuja (Seville), where RCD Mallorca awaits.
