Santi Denia: "We’re ready and excited"
"Ready and excited" is how national coach Santi Denia describes the mood around the camp less than 24 hours before the quarter-final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Football Tournament, which pits Spain against Japan this Friday at 5pm at the Stade de Lyon.
Santi Denia's team trained for the last time before the match on Thursday morning at the Courtois Fillot Stadium in Limonets. After the session, the coach spoke to the media ahead of the crucial quarter-final.
"We are looking forward to the challenge of the quarter-finals, and are well aware of the difficulty of our opponents," he said.
"Japan have not conceded any goals and have won all three of their matches. They have a good defensive structure, they attack with a lot of mobility and quality," he said of their opponents. He also spoke of his team: "We have a good group, a good family feeling and now is the moment when we are going to need the best version of everyone.
Arnau Tenas, Fermín López and Marc Pubill also spoke to the media after the training session.
