In the pre-match, Luis Enrique said Sergio Busquets would play as a starter in the debut against Costa Rica. There is nothing better than having the experience of a player for a World Cup debut. He is a midfielder who gives meaning to the idea of the national team. Busquet's presence on the Al Thumama pitch also makes him a new member of the 'four club', since Qatar is his fourth World Cup.

It is a very select group with distinguished names that have written golden stories for national football. Andoni Zubizarreta was the first to reach four World Cups playing in Mexico 1986, Italy 1990, USA 1994 and France 1998. He was followed by Fernando Hierro, who was in the squad for 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2002. Then, it came a group of players who broke all the records and led Spain to heaven.

Xavi Hernández, Íker Casillas, Andrés Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos and Pepe Reina were part of that legendary squad that celebrated Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. Xavi and Casillas were already there in Korea and Japan (2002), while Iniesta, Ramos, Alonso and Reina played in Germany (2006). In 2010, Sergio Busquets joined that group. He is a key player in all the triumphs since he made his debut with the Spanish national team.

Busquets is now in his fourth World Cup, his first as captain. He is undeniably a key player in the team and essential to provide balance to Luis Enrique's system. He is also a model of reference for younger players and he has won 139 caps since he made his debut with the national team in 2009. This fact becomes him the third on the list.
