The Royal Spanish Football Federation, together with the Seville City Council, is working to ensure that the experience of fans attending the grand celebration of the Mapfre Copa del Rey final is completely positive throughout Saturday, 26 April. To this end, the operation being deployed includes all necessary measures so that fans can enjoy the match and a day of togetherness in the city of Seville.

Security has been reinforced in coordination with all State Security Forces, which include, from the Seville City Council, 230 local police officers as well as 50 Civil volunteers.

Easy access within the city and travel to La Cartuja stadium is guaranteed, with staggered road closures in La Cartuja. Additionally, bus lines C1, C2 and 2 will be reinforced with more buses from 18:00 this Saturday, with a total of 22 articulated buses, and a 24-hour service of the Special Airport line will connect the stadium and the airport throughout the night. There will also be police presence at both Santa Justa station and the airport from 07:00 this Saturday. Fans are advised to arrive at the Stadium before 19:00.

In this regard, the RFEF will collect data on the means of transport used by fans in order to analyse and improve the environmental impact for future events.

Cleaning services have also been reinforced with the deployment of 320 workers, 103 vehicles and 186 temporary contracts to maintain cleanliness around the stadium area and in fan gathering points before, during and after the final.

Meanwhile, the Plaza de la Encarnación in Seville, home to the city’s iconic Setas, has been chosen by the RFEF to host its Fair Play Area, a public space where activities will be held to promote sporting values, fair play, inclusion and sustainability among all football fans attending the Mapfre Copa del Rey final.

The RFEF Fair Play Area will be open throughout the weekend as a meeting point for families, young people and fans.

Additionally, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has launched recycling campaigns that will be implemented in the “Fan Zones”, supported by RFEF Sustainability volunteers, who will inform and assist attendees regarding proper disposal of waste.

The “Fan Zones” for both clubs' supporters will be located in areas adjacent to Estadio La Cartuja. Real Madrid CF supporters will have their zone in the north section, next to Parque del Alamillo, while FC Barcelona fans will be located in the south zone, adjacent to Avenida Carlos III.

Furthermore, 30 recycling containers and 90 themed recycling bins from the RFEF Sostenible program will be placed in the stadium, as well as 8 accessible hydration points inside the Stadium.

Following the Copa del Rey Final, the carbon footprint generated by the event will be assessed, taking into account travel, energy consumption, catering, logistics and waste. All of this aims to reduce emissions and implement outsetting measures through a reforestation project within Spanish territory, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and verified by international standards.
