Spain paint Cologne red

A flood of thousands of supporters of the national team colours paint the German city red.

 

More than ten million red-clad Spaniards on the Spanish mainland watched the scintillating Last 16 victory over Georgia in Cologne.

The rainy day on 30 June in the German city turned into a day beaming in support for the national team, with thousands of fans united by their pilgrimage to the stadium.

The chants of support followed one after the other in a festive atmosphere that shows the  fans’ clear commitment and unwavering affection for the team of all its loyal fans.

It was a sight to behold, a scene that will surely be even more beautiful this coming Friday in Stuttgart for the mouth-watering prospect of the quarter-final tie against hosts Germany.
