Spain push for Euro glory as one big family
Alejandra is the oldest at fourteen years of age and Paloma, the youngest, is still a rug rat at fifteen months old, marked with her number 1 on her Spain shirt.
They are two of the seven children that the couple formed by Mariano Pajares and María Llorens have brought with them in their van all the way from Alicante to Düsseldorf to see the European Championships from the stands. Cheering on the national team and having an unforgettable experience with their large flock is what it’s all about for the family.
"We enjoy the journey, we organise the space, the children learn some autonomy, the older ones take care of the little ones and help us a lot", explains the mother, who has taken turns with her husband at the wheel of a vehicle small in size but packed to the brim in excitement and family love.
On Monday morning, the Pajares-Llorens family were able to share a few minutes with Spain stars Ferran Torres, Dani Vivian and Marc Cucurella, who expressed interest in their adventures and shared their own experiences with the family, such as that of the Catalan full-back, whose brother also travelled by van from mainland Spain to cheer on the national team.
A great meeting with the fans that once again highlights the family spirit of a team made up not only of 26 players, but of more than 48 million fans who share in the highs and lows of this team as they march onwards towards their destiny.
