Spain Receives the Highest Rating in FIFA World Cup Bid History
FIFA considers Yallavamos! to have “all the elements needed for success.”
The joint Morocco, Portugal, and Spain bid to host the 2030 World Cup has been rated 4.2 out of a maximum 5 points by FIFA. This is the highest score ever awarded to a World Cup bid in the tournament’s history.
FIFA highlighted the vision of unity for humanity promoted through football, the values of legacy, and the level of infrastructure as key strengths of the bid.
According to FIFA’s report, the proposed stadiums represent “a memorable collection, and the proposed stadium renovations are realistic and based on an efficient criteria.” Additionally, the transport network is described as “comprehensive and sustainable.”
The proposed host cities were also praised for offering “spaces where experiencing a World Cup will be a once-in-a-lifetime event.”
FIFA concluded that the bid “clearly demonstrated the capability to successfully host” the tournament.
Environmental and human rights issues were marked as a fundamental strength of the Yallavamos bid! The report emphasised “a strong and realistic commitment to sustainability and human rights, confirming robust support for the Paris Agreement, the United Nations Framework for Climate Action in Sport, and the ISO 20121 event sustainability management system.”
