Spain to play in Murcia and Cordoba in October

Spain to face Denmark at the Enrique Roca stadium and Serbia at El Arcángel as part of the Nations League

The Royal Spanish Football Federation Match Designation Committee has approved for the national team to play the first home games of the UEFA Nations League qualifiers in Murcia and Cordoba. The national team will face Denmark on 12 October at the Enrique Roca stadium in Murcia and Serbia on 15 October at the Nuevo El Arcángel municipal stadium in the Andalusian city of Cordoba.

It will be the sixth time that the Spanish senior football team has played a match in the Region of Murcia and it will be seven years since the last one (against Colombia, 2-2). The return to Murcia will coincide with the celebration of the centenary of the Murcia Region Football Federation, which will collaborate in organisation of the match along with the Murcia City Council and the government of the Region.

Spain has already played in Andalusia 87 times, and the region is the national territory the squad have visited the most times. Although Spain have already played friendly matches in the Nuevo El Arcángel, it will be the first time that it will do so in a competitive match. In this case, the Royal Andalusian Football Federation will collaborate with the match, together with the Cordoba City Council and the Provincial Council.

The national team begins its UEFA Nations League group stage campaign in September, but its first two matches will be away. They kick off against Serbia on 5 September, followed by a visit to Switzerland (8 Septembe
