Spanish Super Cup to be played in Jeddah
Real Madrid, Athletic Club, FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca will fight it out for the title at the King Abdullah Stadium, with a capacity of more than 60,000 spectators.
The Spanish Super Cup, which will be played in January 2025, has now been assigned a venue. After three years of being played in Riyadh, Jeddah will now be the venue for this exciting competition which brings together Real Madrid CF, Athletic Club, FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca.
The King Abdullah Sport City KASC Stadium "AlJawhara", with a capacity of just over 60,000 spectators, will host the Spanish Super Cup, which will be played between Wednesday 8 January and Sunday 12. The 2020 edition was played at this same venue and Real Madrid were crowned champions after beating Club Atlético de Madrid in a penalty shoot-out.
On Wednesday 8 January, at 10 p.m. (8 p.m. on the Iberian Peninsula), Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca will face off. Real Madrid, reigning Super Cup champions, come to Saudi Arabia having won the last league title, while the Balearic Islanders are making their debut in this tournament after reaching the final of last season’s edition of the Copa del Rey.
On Thursday 9, at the same time, there is the duel between Athletic Club, the Cup champions, and FC Barcelona, who finished second in La Liga. The final will be played on Sunday 12 January. All matches can be watched on Movistar.
