Tenerife looking sharp in preparation for Spain - Denmark

The Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, the venue for the qualifying match on 4 June, hosted the presentation ceremony on Tuesday.

On the same pitch that the reigning world champions will take to in a week's time, the vice-president of the RFEF and head of the Tenerife Inter-island Football Federation, Alejandro Morales Mansito, led the presentation ceremony for the match between the Spanish and Danish women's national teams on Tuesday.

The national team coached by Montse Tomé will play their fourth qualifier for next year's European Championship in Switzerland on 4 June against the Scandinavian team, and will do so at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium 28 years after their last match on Tenerife soil.

Tickets for the match on 4 June at 20:30 (Tenerife time) are already available through tickets.rfef.es.

Morales Mansito underlined the fact that ‘many cities wanted to host this match because of its importance in terms of qualifying for the European Championships and its proximity to the Olympic Games. It is important that we fill this stadium and that we all get involved because this national team is the pride of all of us and Tenerife will be placed on the world map on a very important day for women's football in the Canary Islands’.

The Director General of Physical Activity and Sport of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Francisco Pérez Martín, the Vice-President and Councillor for Tourism of the Island Council of Tenerife, Lope Afonso Hernández, and the Councillor for Sports of the same institution, Yolanda Moline, reiterated their support for and collaboration with this top level international football match, which will be broadcast live on La1.

Outstanding Canary Islands international footballers for Spain, such as striker María José Pérez and goalkeeper Noelia Ramos, together with the young players of Costa Adeje Tenerife, shared the limelight with the dignitaries on Tuesday, just a week before the ball starts rolling at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium.

The presentation ceremony was held on the same day that tickets for the Spain-Denmark match were made available to fans through the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s official sales channel, which has already sold more than four thousand tickets during the first few hours since they went on sale.
