Tere Abelleira: "The football we play suits my game".
Tere Abelleira, who started both group matches and scored the opening goal against Zambia, is having a great World Cup and she never forgets her motto of putting the team before herself: "All 23 players are here to add something to the group," she said this Friday at the pre match press conference, "and they all showed it in the last match, with the added depth provided by the benched players who came on in the second half being a bonus".

The 23-year-old from Pontevedra recognises that she has made a big step forward in terms of maturity during the last season and admits to having watched her goal against Costa Rica back several times, "although not too many times because I don't usually rewatch my goals. Instead, I prefer to focus on the aspects of my game that need to be improved".
Abelleira feels comfortable in the deep lying centre midfield role she is playing during the World Cup and has only words of gratitude for her teammates, saying "it is very easy to play with them".

Despite having been widely praised this week, the Spanish international prefers to continue helping the team and to keep her head down. She warns of the difficulty of the next match against Japan and wants to continue adding to her record with the national team because "the football we play here suits me and despite that, we can still do things even better," she acknowledges.
