The champion of champions pays a visit
The final training session in Munich featured a very special visit. Jesús Navas, the champion of champions paid a visit and will be present — this time from the stands supporting his former teammates — at yet another historic occasion for the national team.
Just after landing in Munich and minutes after the final session had begun, Navas stepped onto the pitch at the Bayern Campus and was greeted with hugs and applause from all the players who were training.
A unique moment that brought back great memories for the Andalusian. “Things are being done very well here and we are in another final. Personally, the national team is the greatest thing, and we are a magnificent team and reached in another final.”
“Playing for the national team is the ultimate goal for a footballer, now I get to enjoy it in a different way”
The former Spanish international will accompany the national team this Sunday at the Munich Football Arena as ambassador of the team for the grand final against Portugal. Navas is the most decorated player in the history of the national team (2010 World Cup, 2012 and 2024 Euros, and the most recent edition of the Nations League in 2023).
“Let’s hope we can win another title tomorrow”
Jesús Navas made his debut on 14 November 2009 against Argentina at the Vicente Calderón (2-1 win for Spain). He played 56 matches, 40 of which ended in victories and scored five goals. But beyond the numbers, Navas earned the respect and affection of all his teammates and coaches that he shared the dressing room with over his nearly 15 years as an international.
