The Final of the Copa del Rey 2025, a benchmark in sustainability, inclusion and social values
The RFEF produces an event committed to the environment, inclusion and fair play
The Royal Spanish Football Federation has turned the Final of the Copa del Rey 2025, held at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville, into an example of a top-level sporting event as a driver of social transformation, inclusion and sustainability.
Thanks to the active collaboration of the Red Cross, OK Planet, Seville City Council, the La Cartuja stadium, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Royal Andalusian Football Federation and the FC Barcelona and Real Madrid Supporters’ Federations, various initiatives were run that reinforce the values of respect, coexistence and care for the environment:
Fair Play Area in Plaza de las Setas
The Fair Play Area became the epicentre for the promotion of values among the very youngest of supporters. Through fun activities, workshops and educational actions, hundreds of boys and girls learned the importance of fair play, respect for others and living together in a festive and formative atmosphere that symbolises the social essence of the event. The active involvement of the Supporters’ Federations of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona was fundamental in conveying these messages to the fans, reinforcing the spirit of sportsmanship and respect that characterised the day.
Inclusive football on the 3x3 pitches
The installation of a 3x3 football pitch at the foot of the Torre del Oro allowed the celebration of inclusive matches in which people with and without disabilities participated. These matches demonstrated that sport is a space open to diversity and an effective tool for breaking down barriers, generating an environment of equality, respect and companionship that moved everyone present.
Environmental commitment
Specific waste collection systems were implemented in the Fan Zones and in the stadium, facilitating correct separation and recycling by the supporters. This initiative, coordinated with the support of OK Planet, significantly reduced the environmental impact of the event, reinforcing the RFEF’s commitment to sustainability in all its activities.
Wellbeing and safety of attendees
The RFEF, in collaboration with the Red Cross, Seville City Council, La Cartuja emergency services and the Royal Andalusian Football Federation, guaranteed a safe and accessible environment for all attendees. Multiple health and emergency care points were installed and operated quickly and efficiently throughout the day.
Promotion of coexistence and respect
In the weeks leading up to the final, awareness campaigns were launched among fans to foster respect, fair play and peaceful coexistence. The exemplary behaviour of the attendees reflected the success of these actions, fostering a celebratory atmosphere based on the values of sport.
The RFEF wishes to thank the joint effort of all the collaborating bodies and individuals, whose commitment made possible a final that stands out for its values, sustainability and coexistence.
With this final, the RFEF reaffirms its firm commitment to integrating sustainability, inclusion and human values as fundamental pillars of all its major events.
