The final of the Copa del Rey will debut cameras on the corner flags

The RFEF and The Corner Cam join forces in a new experience that will bring the spectator closer to never before seen views.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation and the company The Corner Cam have reached an agreement to premiere field flags with integrated cameras for the first time in a football match. In total there will be eight cameras, two for each flag, so that fans watching the final of the Copa del Rey between Real Madrid CF and CA Osasuna next Saturday will enjoy visual resources that have never been seen before on television.

After the successful tests carried out by The Corner Cam and the RFEF last March 24 in a match between the Spanish U-21 National Team and Switzerland, this Saturday the eight cameras will be integrated into the television signal, which will be carried out by RTVE, and will reach more than 165 countries. In Spain, viewers of La1, Movistar and EiTB will be able to get closer to the game and experience the excitement of the final from different angles.

Each banner, which has two cameras embedded in it, complies with the official measurements both in terms of minimum height (150 centimeters) and thickness, as it is built on a 50-millimeter pole. Its design allows enough mechanical robustness to withstand small impacts, ensuring the safety of the players.

The Corner Cam has been working on this project for two years with Sapec, a technology company with more than 45 years of experience. After a period of many tests and several prototypes, they have arrived at the current product that complies with all regulations and will enable the spectator to approach the game from views unknown until now.
