THE GOAL: 20 titles in 40 finals

On May 6, Real Madrid will become the second team with the most appearances in the Copa del Rey title match.

More than 120 years ago, on Wednesday, April 8, 1903, the then Madrid FC played its first Copa del Rey final on the turf of the now defunct Hipódromo de La Castellana, the very same season in which it was inaugurated.

Since then, and after their last qualification at the Spotify Camp Nou, there have been 40 times that the team in white has been present in the match for the most prestigious title in Spanish football.

In this way, the Merengues, who have accumulated 19 cup titles, become the second club with the most finals, surpassing Athletic and only behind FC Barcelona.

CA Osasuna will be Madrid's opponents in the final on May 6 at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville, which, like every season, will be a genuine party for Spanish football as a whole.
