On a festive night for Spanish football, both to celebrate the great year and for arriving with their objectives complete, the Spanish national team proved what Luis de la Fuente repeats so often: ‘With these players we have a magnificent present and a wonderful future’. The perfect example was the performance of ‘the Bryans’.

On the left, Gil propelled Spain forward with an electric performance, a direct player who got his first goal in red. On the right, in the very final minutes of the match, Zaragoza once again worked his magic with his trademark elfish pure street football to provoke a penalty that he himself converted. The former wore the ‘15’ on his shirt and the latter the ‘22’, but both bore the same name: Bryan.

‘I really wanted to play and to show people what I can do,’ confessed Zaragoza. His goal came from the penalty spot, a penalty that he himself provoked and which he took after chatting with Fabián, who was wearing the armband at the time. ‘A magical night that every little boy dreams of and that I have been able to fulfil,’ he summed up.

Bryan Gil, with the stands of the Heliodoro Rodríguez López already empty, explained how happy he was to have returned to the national team and to have scored his first goal in the special Spain shirt. ‘I remember my grandfather a lot, I started with him, he would have loved to have seen the goal’, he commented.

It was a magical night to show once again that this team is a family and to close off the year with yet another victory.
