The president of the RFEF agrees a new model for competition management with futsal clubs

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzán, today announced a new model for the management of the national futsal competition. The modal was agreed with the first division clubs, launching a new phase which they have described as “exciting”.

The meeting, held at the Ciudad del Fútbol, and also attended by the president of the CNFS, José Miguel Monje, concluded with the proposal to create an Executive Committee in which first and second division clubs will be represented, in addition to the Royal Spanish Football Federation itself.

The representative of Illes Balears Palma Futsal, José Tirado, highlighted the RFEF’s “willingness” to work alongside the clubs, with the aim of having the best league in the world. “That really excites us,” he said.

For his part, the representative of Jimbee Cartagena Costa Cálida, Roberto Sánchez, considered that “this meeting could mark a turning point”, highlighting the RFEF’s resources “to be able to go into this new phase with confidence as it is going to be very exciting”.

A tribute was also paid to Illes Balears Palma Futsal, recent champions of the UEFA Futsal Champions League for the third consecutive season, and a tribute was paid to the referee assaulted in Guadalajara on 29 March.
