The RFEF Board of Directors Unites For the Future of Spanish Football

President Rafael Louzán convenes his Board of Directors for the first time, with representation from LaLiga, Liga F, AFE, players, coaches, clubs, the refereeing sector, and all regions of Spain.
For the first time in RFEF history, there will be 50% female and 50% male representation on the board.

The President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzán, met today in Madrid with his new Board of Directors for the Olympic period 2024–2028, aiming to lay the foundations for the challenges facing Spanish football in the coming years.

For the first time, the RFEF Board of Directors is composed of 50% men and 50% women. Additionally, 25% of its members are independents. This governing body has delved into the “nitty gritty” of commitments and policies that will define Rafael Louzán’s presidency. Highlights include teamwork, social and sustainable commitment, the RFEF brand and institutional prestige, transparency and good governance, as well as training and new strategic plans, among other key matters.

The Board of Directors appointed by Louzán includes representatives from all sectors of Spanish football: regional leaders; Javier Tebas as President of LaLiga; Beatriz Álvarez, President of Liga F; and David Aganzo, President of AFE. Additionally, professionals with recognised expertise in the world of sport have been added to the Board, including coaches, referees, and elite athletes such as María José Rienda, who served as President of the Higher Sports Council between 2018 and 2020.
